NORTH Balwyn edged out Forest Hill on Saturday in what was a battle of the pitchers in round 7 of the Melbourne Winter Baseball League A Grade season.

Played at Myrtle Park in North Balwyn, Adam Blackley from Forest Hill and Tyler Dale from North Balwyn went head to head for the opposing sides on the mound with North Balwyn eventually prevailing with the win.

The score was locked at 2-2 going in to the 7th inning when Jarryd Dale scored with a big hit to secure the win.

Coach Phil Dale said he was happy with where the team was at and that they were “cruising along nicely” at this stage of the season.

Blackley, who also coaches Forest Hill, said it was a great game of baseball but that North Balwyn had the winning edge.

“It was that one timely hit for them in the end,” he said.

“There wasn’t really much in it, but we’re a young team and I don’t think we’re expected to win many games this year but I think we might surprise a few later in the year,” he said.

Forest Hill host Heathmont next week and North Balwyn travel to Greensborough.
